My friends and fellow Alex Jeffreys students are currently playing a game where if you are Tagged, you have to reveal 25 things about yourself that other people might like to know.
The idea was though up by Garry Simpson who is know for his motivational postings and I was tagged by Vance Sova.
It’s a bit nerve racking, but here goes:
1) I was born and still live in Coventry, England, although for the last 10 years I’ve been long distance commuting for work. I spent 6 months living in Karlskrona, Sweden and more than four years working in Edinburg & Glasgow in Scotland, so I’ve racked up some air miles.
2) In 1997 I hit one of my life goals when I watched my football team Coventry City beat Tottenham Hotspurs in the FA cup final. (Things haven’t gone so well for the club since then).

3) I married to my wife Karen, who’s currently helping to care for abused children.
4) I’ve got two children, a boy called Jordan and a girl called Olena. They’re both back to school on Monday starting their GCSE subjects. Both my kids have learning difficulties, but try so hard at everything they try. They’re lovely kids and I’m very proud of them.

5) I love Thai food and am learning how to cook a number of recipes.

6) When I lived in Karlskrona Sweden, I use to take a two hour lunch break and help out in a Thai restaurant, where I was taught how to cook (and how to play a Thai card game called Pok Deng).

7) One of the weirdest things I’ve done to try and make money is to buy a bar in Hua Hin, Thailand. Whilst the bar didn’t work out, I learned so many things about business and Thai culture. As they say, you need to fail many times before you succeed.
I love motorcycles and over a number of years have owned a variety of bikes from a Triumph Bonneville to a Honda CBR100F in Benetton racing colours.
9) Over a four year spell, I restored a Triumph 3TA motorcycle and once I’d finished it I didn’t like it.
(Whish I’d kept it now though).
10) Over the last couple of years I’ve been building a golf portal which incorporates a hole by hole gallery of images which lets viewers see multiple views of every hole on the course.
Check out: http://thailand.holebyholeguide.com select a golf course and then view the Images.
11) When I left school in 1978 I undertook an apprenticeship with Jaguar Cars.
12) I’ve worked for 3 car companies; Jaguar, Triumph and Peugeot.
13) The three car assembly pants that I worked for in Coventry have all been knocked down;
Jaguar’s Radford plant is now a housing estate and the Browns Lane site will be an Industrial business park.
Triumph’s Canley plant is now a Sainsbury’s supermarket and business park.
Peugeot’s Ryton plant has just been flattened and is in the process of being sold.
14) One of my favourite bands is the Specials (also from Coventry) who are in the middle of a 30 year comeback tour.
It’s interesting that their hit from the 1980’s ‘Ghost Town’ is so relevant to Coventry now as when it was written.
15) For years I’ve been wanting to play the guitar. My daughter Olena is taking lessons at school, so I’m learning with her and hopefully motivating her to practice. Not sure if we’ll be an act on ‘Britain’s got Talent’ LOL
16) Other things I wish I could do and want to learn; a magic card trick and a foreign language. (I’m learning Thai to keep in contact with my Thai friends in both Sweden and Thailand).
17) I love travelling to sample the different foods and cultures in different countries.
18) I’m quite partial to a glass of red wine, especially Spanish Rioca.
19) My most bizarre experience on flight happened a few years back when flying to Bulgaria on Balkan Airways. Some liquid started dripping from the overhead cabin onto the passenger sitting next to me. When she brought this to the attention of the air hostess, she took a piece of chewing gum out of her mouth and used it to stop the drip. Brilliant!
20) My favourite comedy acts are; Robin Williams, Woody Allen, Bill Baily and Frankie Boyle.
21) I love the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy festival. When I lived in Edinburgh I went for three years running. Many of the acts are pretty lame, but there are others that are fantastic.
I went to see a show called ‘Roxanne Rolls & Rocket Johnny’s Firey Death stunt show’ which was a series of chainsaw juggling, unicycle riding acts performing their act amid a scene of exploding fireworks. It definitely stuck in my mind.
22) I’m interested in the use of video email as a marketing tool for business and have a reseller licence to promote Talk Fusion Video Email services.
23) I love learning about the different ways that Social Media can virally pass information around the world.
24) I’m really pleased that I took action and signed up for the Alex Jeffreys coaching class.
25) I’m optimistic that by having a plan and following that plan through, I will continue to meet fascinating people and succeed with Internet marketing.
Phew!
Now, I’ve just got to Tag five fellow Alex Jeffreys students to find out their storeys.
Thanks for reading, let me know if you want to know more about anything.

Hey John
Interesting 25 facts about yourself. The photo layout made what you wrote even more interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Susanne Jorgensen´s last blog ..Hello and Welcome!
Hi Susanne,
Thanks for visiting my site.
It was quite a daunting task to write a list of 25 things, but it gave me an opportunity to dig out a few photo’s. Glad you liked them.
John
Cool post John, I can see you’re a well travelled and interesting person. I feel I know you much better now.
I’ve just been tagged too, better get my thinking cap on.

Hey Paul,
Looking forward to reading your tag post

John
Thanks for visiting my blog and looking at my 25 things.
We have been working on the Comet for probably 8 years or so but there are long pauses between activity.
We had it out and about in a car club back in 2004 or 5.
Now we have it stripped down and supposed to be prepping it for paint and a new interior.
It’s at my daughter’s house right now but will be coming back to my house pretty soon. My son-in-law has kind of stalled on the paint prep he was supposed to be doing.
I’ll see what I can find for a picture and send it later.
I liked the way you inserted pictures into your post. I need to learn how to do that.
Motorcycles huh? I have a son that does some of that, I did a little of it when I was much younger, crashed a dirt bike once and haven’t done much since.

Hi Norm,
It’s amazing how long these restore jobs take and the amount of money it sucks up, but it kept me out of mischeif.
If you want to add pictures to your blog post, in Wordpress, you just click on the square icon above the edit box.
(Hover over the icons and it will tell you what each one does).
That opens up a window which allows you to browse your PC to select the picture you want.
Next, the system uploads and crunches your picture down. You then have the opportunity to size the image and select where you want to place it, (left, center, right).
After that, all you need to do is select the button called Inser Picture.
I’m looking forward to seeing some pictures of that Comet now!
Speak soon,
John
Hi John,
Wow…what a worldly guy you are! I wish that I had been to half of the places that you’ve been to. That is an excellent idea for the golf niche. Ever think of expanding the concept over here in the states? I certainly would be happy to handle the east coast for you!
I wish you much success-Take care, John!
Joann
Joann Henry´s last blog ..25 Things That You Might Not Know About Me
Hi Joann,
Thanks for having a look at my golf project.
Actually I’ve stalled on this one a bit and would welcome some fresh eyes on how to make money.
At the moment, I’ve created portals for Thailand, Tenerife, Cyprus and Turkey.
It’s really time consuming and expensive to visit each golf club take and upload around 200 pictures per course.
If you’re interested in doing something in the States, I’d love to work with you.
I guess I need to consentrate on ways of getting traffic to the portals and uploading relevent affilliate products.
Give me a shout if you’ve got some ideas.
Thanks
John
Hi John,
I think that your 25 has the most interesting photo insertions from all the students 25 blogs I’ve seen. Very appealing.
I like your points as they give a good overview of your life so far.
I’ll have to ask you about the video e-mail license more later. Video is something that I’m still struggling to get into.
Keep up the good work.
Vance.

Hi Mick,
Thanks for your kind words, When you start putting things on paper it’s amazing what we have all done.
(I guess this exercise helps to show why making lists is so important to our business planning).
Great 25, John!
#10 Your golf portal is really neat. The hole-by-hole guide is very creative. I’d say you can make a lot from it!
#12 and #13 I’ve worked in the automotive industry for 22 years myself. Ford. No hard feelings but I’m tired now…
Pretty family, congrats!
