Whilst on vacation, I can’t get much access to the Internet, by it has given me the opportunity to read the excellent eBook by Alex Jeffreys called “The Gurus Dream” in which Alex describes how some of the best fishing can happen around man made structures. I thought it was worth sharing Alex’s analogy;-
When you build your blog platform with a good foundation (your oil rig) and add content to the blog (your algae), this will attract people to start commenting on your content (clams).
Because of your third party comments (from your clams), you’ll soon have customers (fish) swimming around your blog (oil rig) wondering why it’s so active and what is the benefit for them to be there.
… and if you have a free eBook (your fishing hook), then you have a good chance to catch some fish.
Once you learn how to catch small fish, it’s only a matter of time before you have enough knowledge to catch bigger fish.
Thanks Alex! ……. Happy Fishing

Yes, JOhn, it’s really good comparison.I remember we were swimming in the open Ocean when I was working at the ship and never seen any sharks. When we started to come close to the land it was like Shark Farm at that area.Warm water, a lot of small fish,-great environment for the living! LOL
What they forget at the open sea?
Hi John,
Finally, I’m here. Beautiful work. And you know what, this post gives me an idea, to read all of Alex’s ebooks while I am away here in Minneapolis. Brilliant.
And thanks for bringing forth that oil rig analogy. I really wanted to write about that myself.
I’ll be back soon,
Karen
Hi John,
How coincidental, you were reading Alexe’s book same time that he was teaching on the same subject. Getting traffic to our blog and compared our blogs to a oil rig.
By the way, love the title of this post.
Hi John,
Nice written post my friend,I enjoyed every bit it.Look forward to get to know you while yoy are a fellow student.
Cheers Derek
John,
Hope you’re having is good bit of Rest n Relaxation.
Yep, Alex reaffirmed everything you said on the phone the other
night… But you seemed to break it down so simple now
I even understand it.
thx,
Rob
Hi John
The oil rig analogy is a great one, Alex Jeffreys has a fantastic way of explaining concepts. He comes across as such an ordinary bloke, very humble, but is extremley knowledgeable.
Keep in touch

Hi John
Nice little post. A lot said in a few words.
I love Rob’s quote in his reply.
Keep up the good work
Norm
Thanks Norm,
I appreciate your comments.
John
Hey John,
As a fisherman, I like the fishing analogy – clams/fish/hooks etc.
It’s analogy that explains the blog hopping process to a tee.
BTW – Yours is one of the best blog themes I’ve seen recently (save for one other).
Keep in touch,
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
Where are you based? At the moment I’m in Thailand and the fishing over here is amazing.
My daughter found a small octopus in a rockpool the other day. (Maybe I should upload the video I took).
It’s really amazing to see so many different creatures up close.
Thanks for your kind words.
John
PS I get back to the UK next week and want to make some changes to my blog …. adding Alex’s Profit Pulling Platform and a sign up for an RSS feed. Any suggestions to improve my Blog would me most welcome.
I like the analogy – definately need to sort the free ebook!
Regards
Pete
Hi Pete,
Getting the free eBook is now a priority for me.

Hi Surender Sharma,
I’m back from vacation where I found it difficult to blog as I didn’t have internet access. The result being, no traffic to the site.
However, I’m going to treat this as a positive and use the information for my next blog post.
“What happened to my traffic”
Thanks for the post, Speak to you soon,
John

Hi John
Alex really knocked it out of the park with that Ebook I knew this was happening but when you’re in the mist of it it’s hard to stop because you’re always looking for the magic pill that’s going to get you out of the rat race, what you have to do get in that business mind set and realize there is not a quick fix, and you have to roll up your sleeves and go to work.
Great post John
